the days of the yellow ginkgo

it is now when the days of the yellow ginkgo are here
it is now that we must open our eyes and feel
the last golden lights caressing the eyelids
the warmth from the red heat stored in the leaves;

before they fall, before winter and the possible snow
it is now that we live, laugh and learn
from the bugs, from the trees and the rivers
from the love we receive from others,

it is now we exchange little gestures
like the shaking of hands, and he twinkling of eyes
it is now that we must ban sorrows and be strong
and blessed in the golden days of the ginkgo.

beautiful autumn colours - i can imagine them as i read your poem.

those leaves look spectacular - ours are mostly evergreens here, so we dont see this often
