someday

some day I am gonna start
a big fight
against the inequalities
of trees

some of them are simply
too tall
to let others thrive
in their shade


some of them are
rapacious
building huge hats
to capture light

all for themselves
but light
should be shared
equally

especially
since it comes free
to us
including the short ones.

don't cover the head
of little ones
with your shade
unless you want them
perhaps protected
from storms
and then it is you
tall ones
bringing a service
to the short ones
and you can only hope
for the future
they will keep making
just reasonable
demands
or else I will have to start
another fight
