you've touched on a very interesting point
reading is not a popular hobby in hania. Despite that, there are people who like to brag about how well-read they are, bragging about the books they buy and read, even though they are not scholars and may have only finished the bare basic state education.
i've always wanted to point out to them (but rarely do) that to be well-read is not to read what you enjoy reading, but to read what you do not enjoy reading.
